Vegemite a thick, dark brown paste based on yeast extract, the national dish of Australia. Vegemite is used mainly as a paste spread on bread, sandwiches and crackers, and for stuffing typical Australian Cheesymite scroll buns. Vegemite analogs are the British Marmite and Swiss Cenovis vegemite photos. Vegemite is made from leftover beer wort and various flavorings. The paste tastes very salty, slightly bitter, with a yeasty aftertaste, which can be somewhat reminiscent of beef broth. The consistency is homogeneous and thick, similar to peanut butter.
